Why Hire a Professional
"Why should I hire someone to take pictures when my cellphone or my friend has a camera?"
Well, besides the fact that you might be too busy yourself to take all the photos, and your friend should be there to enjoy the wedding and be present for you, there is a lot more to it than just having a camera! I have spent countless hours working on my photography skills and knowledge, understanding and working with my camera equipment to optimize efficiency and performance, lighting and light balance techniques, artistic and esthetic positioning and posing, editing tools and software, digital filing systems, color correction for digital screens and archival printing, mounting and framing, and more. I am hired to take care of capturing your big day in images that can be looked at years from now and enjoyed for a lifetime.
What goes into a photo?
When you or your guests takes a photo on their cellphone, that is normally the final image of that photo. When I take a photo, that's only the first step. Besides my cameras' superior sensors and lenses and image controls and lighting equipment, I then take that photo and improve it even further. To give you an idea, here's a list of what goes into editing a photo.
-Photo Captured in Camera RAW format, leaving more detail/editing capability later. -Saved in Adobe RGB Color lossless compressed format -Photos uploaded into Lightroom and Photoshop -Original Unedited photos backed up to external hard drive for safe storage -Corrections for white balance -Corrections for exposure -Corrections for contrast -Corrections of highlights and shadows -Corrections for white and black peaks/clips -Corrections to skin tone and smoothing -photos combined to create HDR (High Dynamic Range) images. -Histogram adjustments/balancing -Adjustments to texture, clarity, color vibrance and saturation -Artistic adjustments to the tone curve -Individual adjustments to hue/saturation/luminance of specific colors -Adjustments to split toning and the hues/saturations of highlights and shadows -ISO Sharpening and noise reduction adjusted -Lens distortions corrected -Chromatic abberations removed -Vignetting adjusted for artistic effect -Image cropped and angle adjusted for pleasing ratios/angles -Brush adjustments made to improve particular sections in a photo -Spot removal of any dust specks or simple items not wanted in the image -Graduated and Radial Filters added -Photoshopping for more challenging items (hair strands across the face, something stuck in the teeth, etc.) -Creative presets added to some photos for different artistic moods -Files resized and created/saved for specific digital/printing purposes
I don't expect you to understand what all of those things mean.
That's why you are hiring a professional.
